I perked up a bit last week, and finally got round to tidying up the house, which was very cheering in itself. I should have spent today madly tidying up, since one of my old classmates, Lauren, is going to be staying here while she looks for a flat in London. The g-d came round last night for dinner, and to catch up after her visit to Paris last week, so I was forced to clear several inches of sock-monkey paraphernalia from the living-room table and generally tidy up, which left me feeling far more cheerful. The weekend weather was remarkably cold, dark and nasty, and I did my best to stay in as much as possible, but yesterday I had to slog over to Clapham for a birthday celebration, and didn't get home until a very wet and dreich 9 pm.
